Sculpture in painted aluminium 2025 230 x 330 x 110 cm
“The work resembles a half-open fan or folding-screen (屏风) frequently seen in Chinese art and build-environment (following fengshui theory for example), which in turn symbolizes a united cosmos onto which the world as a whole is projected through a series of shadow play. Not an accurate cartography, the black parts are visible shadows of the landmasses of our planet earth into the infinite and expanding cosmos. The cosmos-screen is folding and unfolding, occasionally reflected in the water of the pond where it is standing – almost floating, earth meets water, wind meets shadow (…).” Zairong Xiang
