Geographical Outline: Sertão
The Sertão (Brazilian Hinterland) is a region of unclear boundaries and contours that have also changed throughout history. This map of Brazil has been redrawn to simulate a school atlas page. At the bottom of the image are descriptions of the Sertão.
Possible contours to delimit this region are cut out, thus drawing a hollow shape on the cartography: this absent shape itself is painted on the wall on which the work is laid out.
