Modular #13

In 2021, Marina Camargo began a series of paintings called Modulares. The folded/unfolded shapes of continents transform the structure of maps towards other possible orderings of geography. Modulares differs from the Unfolded Geographies series in its experimentation with color and how the translucent layers of paint are superimposed. At the same time, the shapes are presented as cut-outs projected onto a black background. The explorations of the mutations of geographical forms refer to ways of thinking/imagining other world orders.
